Do you have to type your address out every time you write a letter?  Or do you open a letter already sent and remove all the content except your address?

Its easy to create templates to avoid this.

Next time you write a letter type the address.  Insert the date by going to the Insert menu and choosing Date and Time. In the Date and Time dialogue box choose your format and click the Update automatically tick box this will  mean that you have todays date every time you use the template.

Type Dear, leave a few lines and type Yours sincerely.

Next go to Save As.  In the Save As dialogue box go to the bottom and in the Save as type drop down list choose Document Template. In the File Name box type a name for the template - be pedantic.

When the dialogue box is like the one below click Save

When you want to use the template open Word click on File then New.

In the right hand pane of the Word window look in the Templates section and click On my computer In the Templates dialogur box in the General tab you should see the name of your new template listed.  Double click and it will open.
