I am always surprised how the internet can startle you without warning and I don't mean the nasties that can pop up from time to time.
Whenever I teach or demonstrate the Internet I will often put the word
pig
into Google. It will always show up some interesting and amusing sites.
I frequently end up exploring these sites. I love pigs.
In one of them I noticed a link that said "Very Strange Picture" so I clicked on it.
It took me to a strange and very disturbing photograph of a sculpture. It was by an Australian artist called Patricia Piccinini. Below is a detail.
It is a forceful image that compells you to think about family life and genetic engineering.
Her work is truely remarkable and you can find her just by putting her name in Google.
